Risen Christ Catholic School is a diverse, urban school educating students in grades kindergarten through 8. It’s located at 1120 E. 37th Street, in the Phillips neighborhood of Minneapolis. The school lives its motto, “Preparing children for success in work and in life” by providing the children with a safe, academically challenging and faith-filled environment for learning. The children are from many different cultures, faith traditions, language, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Since 1998 St. Olaf has made a commitment to support Risen Christ Catholic School through volunteer support and financial contributions. Financial support enables the school to strengthen its programs and support both student scholarships and faculty salaries. Our support makes a significant difference at Risen Christ — tangible assistance for their day-to-day budget and confidence knowing that they are supported in faith by a larger community.
St. Olaf Volunteer Support Includes:
~ serving as English and math tutors, art instructors, library aides, Spanish translators, coaches, and committee and board members
~ organizing school supply drives for students
~ organizing, supporting and participateing in the school’s annual gala, Passion Play, marathon, and the St. Olaf “Taste of Risen Christ” Dinner and Awareness Weekend held in February
