Grief Support

St. Olaf and the Downtown Coalition for Grief Support provide education and support for those grieving the death of a loved one. Nine sponsoring churches make up the Coalition and host the grief meetings. The aim is to provide a respectful, caring atmosphere, inclusive of all faiths.

Excellent speakers, trained facilitators and a group of others who have experienced loss make these sessions a place of healing. It is possible to walk the path of grief alone. However, the companionship of others wounded by loss is tremendously consoling and powerfully healing.

9:30-10:00 am: Refreshments and check-in
10:00-10:30 am: Educational presentation
10:30-11:30 am: Three discussion groups for loss of a spouse, child or family member/friend

Meetings are held every Saturday from 9:45 – 11:30 am. You can join the group at any time. A small weekly donation is gratefully accepted.

Through April, meetings are being held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1200 Marquette Avenue, Minneapolis. From May through August, meetings will be held at Basilica of St. Mary — Undercroft (enter through stairs underneath main entrance), 88 North 17th Street (at Hennepin).
