WE WELCOME TOURING CHOIRS — Touring choirs to the Twin Cities are welcome to contact the Director of Worship/Music to arrange singing for Mass. Prelude time and brief post-liturgy concert may be included for special choral presentation.


ST. OLAF PARISH CHOIR

This choir of mixed voices sings liturgical music, classical anthems and concert repertoire from a broad range of styles and periods.

IN SESSION: September 9, 2009 – June 6, 2010
MINISTRY: 10:00 am Sunday Mass
REHEARSAL: Wednesday 7:00 – 9:00 pm and Sunday 9:15 am
Joins combined choirs for Easter Vigil, special liturgies/events.


CONTEMPORARY MUSIC ENSEMBLE

The Contemporary Music Ensemble of singers/instrumentalists leads the music of the Sunday afternoon Mass.

MINISTRY: 4 pm Sunday Mass
REHEARSAL: Sunday 2:20 pm
Larger seasonal choir of mixed voices for Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Pentecost, Solemnity of St. Olaf.
REHEARSAL: Tuesday 7:00 – 9:30 pm as announced

AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL CHOIR

This unique and international ensemble of singers/instrumentalists leads the music for the monthly African Mass. The repertoire is prominently African with a mixture of other cultures and languages.

MINISTRY: Third Sunday of the month, 12:00 Noon Mass
REHEARSAL: Saturday 2:00 – 4:00 pm, as scheduled

VENITE

This choir is for the person who would like to explore their voice — even if they have never been in a choir before — to learn basic technique, unison singing of songs, hymns and psalms. Ministry and rehearsal as announced.


VOCAL CONSORTIUM

The Vocal Consortium comprises a group of auditioned staff singers who serve as cantors, section leaders and soloists in choir ministry. The personnel come to St. Olaf as professional vocalists, vocal instructors, and university music students. Vocal instruction is offered at St. Olaf for hire to singers in the music program.
