Faith & Work Series

2010-2011 Faith & Work Breakfast Series presents

A Divided Life:

How to integrate faith, work, family, marriage, personal time, volunteering…

“A life of prayer is a life of beginning all over again.”  ~ Charles Cummings, Trappist Monk

As people of faith, we sincerely desire to live a spiritual life of integrity. We want to live each day in sync with gospel values. For many of us, however, our good intentions are challenged the moment we start our day. We feel swept away by the tide of tasks, responsibilities, commitments, unexpected events and interruptions. How can we focus on faith when there are a myriad of obligations that consume us at work and at home? When the day is done, we may feel that the moments devoted to our spiritual life are but a tiny slice of time.

When we ask our Faith and Work Program attendees what the greatest challenge is to their own life of faith and work, the vast majority respond, “balance.” But, is balance really achievable? How do we really go about integrating faith with work and all the other commitments of life?

This year we will examine the challenge of a divided life and identify practices and tools to help you achieve your desire for a more integrated faith life. Our speakers will offer insights into the ways we get off track and share practical solutions for keeping faith at the center of our life.

“No city or house divided against itself will stand.” ~ Matthew 12:25
